FICTIONAL DAIRY FARM

Willow Lane Dairy

The care behind the milk.

At Willow Lane, the lane between pasture and barn connects the day’s work. Follow the herd’s movement, the places cows rest and the steps milk takes after milking.

Willow Lane Dairy is fictional. Its name and story are part of a concept demonstration; it is not a Simply Pasture supplier and does not identify the source of a product.

Setting in this example

Story focus

Daily care, milking and the path toward a carton.

The walk matters too.

Moving between pasture and barn is part of a dairy cow’s routine. Calm handling and a comfortable walking pace help avoid unnecessary stress. The people moving the herd have a role in that care, even between feeding and milking.

A comfortable place to rest.

A soft, clean resting space, access to feed and water, and protection from weather all contribute to cow comfort. The barn and resting areas deserve attention alongside the pasture.

What happens after milking?

After milking, milk is cooled before collection or processing. Many dairies send it to a separate processing facility, and milk from several farms may be combined along the way before pasteurization and packaging.

This example does not identify a supplying farm, milk processor or product batch.

Following milk means following the records.

Connecting a carton to its source means identifying the supplying farm or farms and the collection and processing records that connect them to the milk. Simply Pasture’s product-to-farm connections are still in development.
