Illustrative serving suggestion.
For people who are pregnant, aged 65 or older, or have a weakened immune system, CDC recommends avoiding unheated deli meat. Reheat the turkey to 165°F / 74°C or until steaming hot before using it, then assemble and serve promptly. Allow extra heating time beyond the cold recipe’s 15-minute estimate.
Ingredients
- 4 large 10-inch flour tortillas
- 12 oz / 340 g fully cooked, ready-to-eat turkey breast deli slices
- 4 oz / 115 g sharp cheddar made with pasteurized milk, thinly sliced
- 1 crisp apple, cored and thinly sliced
- 4 large lettuce leaves, washed and thoroughly dried
- ⅓ cup / 80 g plain whole milk Greek yogurt, pasteurized
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Method
- Stir yogurt, mustard, lemon juice and pepper together. Keep the turkey and yogurt refrigerated until needed. If the deli-meat guidance above applies, heat the turkey before assembling the wraps.
- Spread a quarter of the yogurt mixture over each tortilla, leaving about an inch around the edge.
- Layer each with one lettuce leaf, a quarter of the turkey, cheddar and apple. Keep the filling in a compact line just below the center.
- Fold the sides in, then roll up firmly from the bottom. Cut each wrap in half and serve immediately, or refrigerate in a covered container for later the same day.
Equipment
- Cutting board and knife
- Small mixing bowl
- Food thermometer, if reheating the turkey
Storage
Best assembled the day it is eaten. Keep refrigerated or in an insulated bag with ice packs. Use opened or deli-sliced turkey within 3–5 days, or sooner if its package or another ingredient requires it. Assembling the wraps does not restart that clock.
Variations
- Use pear instead of apple.
- Use fully cooked homemade turkey in place of deli turkey, following its own storage limit.
Allergens
Wheat and milk. Mustard is present; check tortilla and deli-meat labels for other allergens.

Kitchen safety
Use pasteurized dairy and rinse fresh produce under running water. Keep perishable ingredients and the finished food at 40°F / 4°C or below. Refrigerate within 2 hours, or within 1 hour when the temperature is above 90°F / 32°C. Follow the earlier of the recipe’s storage guidance and an ingredient’s limit. Keep ready-to-eat food separate from raw meat and its juices.
